Victorian Politician Harriet Shing noticed a fluffy koala strolling down the street on Monday Nov. 14 in the small country town, and the marsupial's aimlessness worried her.

"It was peak hour which is not usually a terribly big traffic jam for Leongatha on a Monday afternoon. But there were a fair few cars going around and not at walking pace so I got out and I had to guide it across the road."
The koala safely crossed, pausing to peer into a few shopfront windows, before taking a breather on the front stoop of an accounting firm.

When Shing attempted to see if the koala was injured, it moved, causing the motion sensor to activate.
"The door just sort of opened next to the koala who looked around and sort of said 'yeah I’m down with this' and went inside," she said.

"I had to announce that there was a koala incoming, which is so bizarre and all of my friends are hanging it on me -- I had to say don’t be alarmed there’s a koala coming around the corner!"

The local vet was called in to help relocate the koala to a more suitable environment. Like a tree.
